Should a Working Mom Play Golf to Increase Business?

I got a strange suggestion from a pal when I asked how I can market my freelance writing/blog building business… he simply said “play golf”. I slept on it and figured that the suggestion isn’t strange at all.

Golf is a luxury sport which became popular because only those who have all the time in the world to talk business leisurely can play. Why has golf become so fashionable for business owners? It’s the chance to be outside, to get a good whole body training, network with friends or company colleagues at a leisurely pace, and to play a sport that you can be never really perfect. There is gratification in seeing your improvement over time (via a scorecard), and the notion that you are progressing keeps you competing again and again.

Here are some tips that I receive if I ever accumulate enough investing money to buy the equipment (see Ping Golf and the beautiful but expensive equipment there). I noticed that you must always have a mentor to start. It’s not a DIY like the sport of… shopping (kdding lol)!

It is important for amateur golf players to not take themselves too seriously. It takes a long time to play a decent game, even though the experts make it look so simple. Take a tutorial or two when you decide to start; a decent swing is habit forming and it will help you in the long run.
