I Have to Take My Mind Off the LPG Crisis!
I went shopping today after paying bills and man, the enormity of the LPG crisis here hit me like a ton of bricks.
What exactly happens when people don’t have LPG to cook with? Soon there will be less food to eat (bakeries are really suffering now), people will be ordering more from fastfood (I can see my maid mumbling, “fried chicken again” in my mind) and SOON there won’t even be much food to order because people would be saving their LPG for … personal use!
That’s right, there’s no LPG for personal use anymore, and most businesses have hoarded what they can and started selling only to relatives (you gotta love your own right?). Hopefully, this crisis is in the manila area and won’t reach the folks back home.
I just came out from a store selling electric cooking stoves, and a guy with 5 kids in tow just bought the last one. I cannot believe my luck, but i can’t help but feel happy for the dad who found a way to feed his five kids with non-fastfood dishes.
I went to the cellphone stores instead to find something to worry about, like look for an sd card for my cam and phone. Yeah, look for mundane things to worry about so I won’t have to start cursing the government for letting this kind of crisis happen.
Tomorrow, we’re going to buy uling (charcoal) to cook with. Gosh!
