For Work at Home Moms: Should You Buy an Existing Business?
It’s tempting to say the least. Buying an established business and not worrying about branding it, renting a good location and developing a system or a routine for everyday business. What if you get to keep the employees? Won’t that be something that you would want?
Let’s say there’s a small business for sale, and the business is a good one. For instance, a water bottling company or a food cart? These are hot businesses, and you know it. How many times do you get bottled water delivered every single week? How many times have you gone to a street food stall this day? Maybe you can’t believe your luck when a good opportunity like this comes up. The easy way is just to hand over the cash and secure the rights.
Tempting? Hell yeah.
But wait. A word of warning. Before you pay the biggie, think if the business really revolves around your interest or lifestyle. Something that seems like a hobby to you should not really be too difficult to do, but something that does not interest you in anyway is waaay to difficult to wake up to every single day.
Take it from someone who bought a food cart franchise without realizing that she hates inventories. Inventories, like daily counting. Weirdly enough, my mom and my sis LOVED counting foodstuffs. It’s their thing. But it’s not mine.
It was only around 5 years after my first real business that I realized what they meant with “niche”.
So, what’s my niche? You’re reading it.
With this blog, I hope to be able to teach other work at home Filipina moms how to earn online. So, stay tuned for that.
