Advanced Mom Day Post: How to Start Preparing for Mom Day
Mother’s day is a Big deal in this planet and it’s easy to see why so many mom products soar in prices during May. You see, moms are a rare breed of people. We went through the rigors of being single before we turned into the responsible, driven and authoritative females that we are.
How can you make things special for mom this year?
1. Lessen Stress – Whether you take care of a particular chore for that day or you give her a gentle back rub, the best gift you can give mom is to reduce the stressors that she normally gets from doing chores and working.
2. Have a long talk (over her favorite java coffee) – Telling mom your plans for the future will reduce her worry about you. Show her that you have a realistic mindset and that you are hopeful and confident about the things that you can do in life.
(Note: AJ already did this by memorizing the ABC, hurrah!!!)
3. Give her TV time – She might have been sacrificing television time so you can watch your favorite shows. Why not give her tv time during mommy’s day and ask your friends to record the shows for you to watch later. You can also pool your savings and buy her her own television set (wink).
4. Hugs – Hugs work wonders after a heated argument, but they work best if done for no particular reason.
5. Ask an aunt to accompany you at home while dad takes mom for a ride or a road trip. Mom and dad need to spend time alone, but they usually can’t do this because they need to take care of their kids’ daily needs. Why not make them take a trip to NY and spend some time in a New York City hotel, and just do what moms and dads usually do when they’re totally relaxed?
Mom’s days should leave mom feeling great. She shouldn’t be stressed out on her special day. Because jewelry and other luxuries are expensive, the best gifts mom can receive are those that come from the heart.
