“You Dont Have an Inbox Yet” – Hotmail Account Outage? Being Fixed?
Did you notice how Windows Live online applications, such as Live Messenger and Hotmail, suddenly stopped working? I really hope it’s just temporary! I never realized just how important hotmail still is to a lot of us Live Messenger users until I found out recently that my hotmail inbox is missing. How do you deal with that feeling of dread when you discover that your hotmail inbox disappeared?
The exact words are “you don t have an inbox…yet”
If you’re like me and you want to check your inbox as soon as you open your browser, you must have received the same message, “You don’t have an inbox… yet,” while logging into your hotmail account. My immediate worry was the security of my mail, and then I started fretting about my messages (I was waiting for a particularly important email). It turns out, I’m not the only one with this problem. I know a lot of people who started mailing people online from way way back using hotmail and like me, they’re pretty attached to their hotmail accounts too. Some have been keeping 10-year-old Hotmail inboxes and if this account suddenly went poof, there WILL be repercussions (fuming now).
Fortunately, it’s being fixed. Here’s a recent message from the Windows Live team…
Rest assured that your inbox is safe!
The incorrect message was sent out, caused by a networking issue that we encountered while doing routine maintenance.
We have corrected the problem and you should be able to access your Hotmail and other Windows Live services again now. We apologize for any inconvenience that was caused by this issue, and we thank you for using Windows Live.
