Is the Travel Industry Suffering Because of Swine Flu?

It’s difficult to plan ahead when it comes to traveling. In particular, I wanted to plan for an HK trip with the hubby and baby after the release of the nursing board exam results. But now, it’s a lot harder to do that because of this health threat that’s becoming more and more real every day.

Just when we can afford to travel, we can’t. Isn’t it ironic how things turn out? I’ve said in the past that the cost of traveling has dropped and going to the US has been easier. Nowadays, it’s not impossibly expensive to afford Disney travels (Orlando vacations) and family out of the country trips. Now, planning is all about avoiding the affected countries, or planning not to go at all.

I thought ordinary families will now be able to take advantage of the travel industry promotions and discounts, particularly during summer. (sigh)
