Color Tricks Can Help Your Diet
I’ve swapped tricks on how to make our kids eat veggies while chatting in the ‘mommy’s waiting place’ at my son’s school. I realized that children will eat vegetables if their parents do… and they won’t eat veggies if their parents don’t cook the dishes in a way that will attract kids.
I also learned one thing that day: moms can use color to improve their diet. Here’s how:
You can color code your diet.
This is a familiar tactic among dieters (do you remember the ‘no white’ diet?). The idea is to eat a certain percentage of food with that color every day. For instance, eat white and green in the morning (rice and broccoli, maybe?), and red and white at night (meat and pasta). The more color that is in your food recipes, the better. If you’re feeling the munchies during snack time, why not substitute your usual snack (chips) with something yellow… cheese sticks in molo wrapping! For purple, you can cook yams or sweet potatoes (the purple variety). For orange, you can eat squash.
Colors can help your child eat vegetables, and they can also help you diet. Of course, the food you eat is just a part of your weight loss plan, there are many sources of tips on how to burn fat online if you want to research which supplements provide the needed nutrients you need to avoid nutritional imbalances.
