What I Learned from Single Living
I just thought I’d share a few tips I learned when I was living solo. I called these “survival living” on my other blog, and I know that a lot of single women out there can use the tips.
Get more light. It’s very easy to get depressed when it’s dark and you’re all alone. One of the best ways to combat this is to get more sunlight, but if you live in an apartment or a condo unit and you don’t often see the sun outside your window, get more light.
Protect yourself from cold and flu. Living alone and getting sick is like going through hell. My worst thought when I get sick was “what if I fall down because I’m too dizzy?”. If you get sick, tell people and have them check how you’re doing every once in a while. Also, keep your phone with you all the time so you can call someone if you really feel terrible.
Cut the stress. Work can leave you burned out and more susceptible to colds, the flu, and other illnesses. Take time at least several times a week to do something relaxing. You can take a warm bubble bath, read your favorite book, or even take up yoga. You may know all about the best ab workout, but if you’re stressed most of the time, you’re more likely to get sick or binge on comfort food.
