How to Make Your Home Office Feel More Business-Like
If you work at home, you probably know the importance of having a small nook you can call your “work place”. But how can you set up a place for business in a location where you’re known as “mom”? And, what if you don’t have much space to spare?
Even if you only have a bit of space to accommodate one desk, you can call that your workplace. You don’t have to have a grand desk with a nameplate, a box of ashton cigars or a wide floor space with a mini-golf course to feel like a CEO in your own home office.
You just have to make sure your work things are arranged in a specific order. Tag everything from your files to your magazine resources. Keep your pens in the drawer and keep your work space free from clutter.
Choose your office hours, and spread the word to your family members. This is a great way to prevent family and friends from wanting your time when it’s not ideal for you to play the role of mom. Let them know they are important to you, but outside of your office hours is best for you.
Working at home need not be stressful. Even with a blaring television in the background, you can work at home at your own pace.
