Men Use Cosmetics and Skin Products Too
Because i grew up in a town where there’s a clear line between gays and “real” men (gays wear make up like girls, and real men look like real men), I was extremely culture shocked when I got to the city and found out that not all guys who wear make up are gay, and not all guys who look dashing and masculine are straight.
When I got that sorted out in my head, my taste in men changed drastically. I no longer think all dirty looking guys are masculine. They’re just men who have never tried skin and hair care products before because of various reasons. It got to a point where I’d get offended if I hear a guy say “skin care products are for gays”. You see, it’s not like that. I think all men should pay attention to their skin.
Some of my guy friends have bad skin during adulthood because they went through their pimple-ridden adolescent years without knowing what acne treatment products like acnepril are. Unlike girls who talk about these things during lunch breaks, guys don’t go out shopping for skin care products together. But it’s not too late. I for one make it a point to buy the hubby pampering stuff, and I always say he’s welcome to try any of my herbal shower gels and what-not if he wants.
