Frugal Mom: Go for the Baby Furnitures with More Features
Sometimes, we go shopping and see several items belonging to different brands or the same brand with different features. It doesn’t matter if it’s a baby cot, baby bed, a bathtub, a recliner or a gym equipment you want to purchase for your home. Those with more features are more expensive than the others, but the thing is that you might need those features in the future and you’ll be saving yourself the trouble of buying another item with those features if you buy the all-in-one item now.
One good example are baby products. Cots are often simple enough because they’re just meant for sleeping. Some cots however have added features that your baby doesn’t need yet. Some moms think “this will be with the baby for the long term so I might as well get this”. Bu more moms think “I’ll cross the bridge when I get there. Right now I want something that will fit my budget”.
Another example is the stroller. Actually, this is a better example. Babies can fit inside a stroller for only a short duration. They will start walking or wanting to stay inside the shopping cart rather than the stroller soon enough, but moms still think they need a number of inexpensive strollers meant for different purposes just because an all-in-one option (for example, a Bob revolution stroller) is financially not viable at the time of purchase.
It’s always better to think ahead when you’re buying furniture for baby. Maximum time for actual usage is a few years from the time of birth, so get something that will last for that time.
