Shopping for Shoes: Guide for Frugal Moms
Shoes are temptation items to some and necessities to some. If you’re on a budget, you can still satisfy your craving for shoes, but at the same time, buy something that will last you a year in case you really don’t have the money to spare to buy another pair.
First, choose the place where you will shop. The place where you shop will determine the quality of merchandise you will be choosing from. When you’re going shopping for shoes in a high-end mall, you can pretty much guarantee that whatever you purchase is going to be double the price at least. So, go shopping in a mall that’s meant for middle classers. Don’t go to extremely low end places or you will be choosing only from lowQ items that probably won’t last.
Shopping online. If you can believe it, shopping online can actually be a frugal move. You will save a lot in terms of gas and effort if you can find an item that you are sure you won’t have to return. Anything from polo boots to prom pumps are available online. While part of the fun is trying on the shoes, it may be cheaper in the long run if you can get all the quality items you need from an internet shopping site.
During an economic recession people are looking for ways they can save money, even if it means accepting slightly inferior quality products and services. But you cannot afford to scrimp on quality when it comes to footwear. What you can do is control the frequency of shopping for footwear by getting a good quality one that will last.
